At twilight time the smog makes a rainbow – Tom Petty
Watching you joyfully run to him
in the nascent twilight
as it caresses the leaves with its
mellifluous cadence, evoking
bittersweet nostalgia –
the spice of yesteryear, now amorphous
like the mist that sheathes the lake,
I wrap myself in the idea of us again.

Oh this was lush, painfully gorgeous. In the idea, never to be reality – of us.

No bitterness here, but instead a beautiful tribute to love, lived and lost. So many lovely phrases to appeal to the senses and I like the unique way you incorporated the word.

Love the close as it gives a finality! It evokes a picture of togetherness at the end!
