“Evil cannot and will not be vanquished by evil. Dark will only swallow dark and deepen. The good and the light are the keenest weapons.”
― Nora Roberts
Once there was darkness,
not the opposite of light,
but a darkness that preceded
light, before a divine fiat
brought colours, patterns,
shapes, forms, the vast
macrocosm and microcosms
of it into existence, and though
I perceive it all – the fractals and
the whole, I stand at a distance,
never communing with
the grand design,
possessed by the darkness
which is not the opposite
of light, perhaps best described
as an unrivalled darkness
that transcends light,
unparagoned in its intensity,
antipodal to serenity,
an indescribable gloom
where horrors haunt,
stretching forth tenebrous limbs,
suppressing truth and robbing
me of aesthetic sense,
it’s a darkness that lives
and breathes, a darkness
that devours.
Once there was light,
a superlative light, not the
opposite of darkness,
but it now hides,
wanting to wage war, but
waiting… waiting,
and I wait too, hoping
for beauty, love, peace, and
hope, a perennial struggle
reflecting a bigger cosmic war.

The darkness as described makes me keep the blanket tucked tight around me (with nothing exposed) to keep me safe
Haha. It’s inspired by these cosmic horror novels and philosophies about them. But who knows, maybe IT lurks beneath your bed 😋
Can’t get me if I’m covered up! Lol 🤣
Nice
Thank you
